I just took my hunters education safety course, and trespassing is a big point made in the class. Basically even if there is no sign, if it is fenced and there are anything that resembles fire breaks it is considered private property and you’re best off avoiding it. You can obtain written permission from land owners but make sure you keep it on you, as well as their contact info.
I own land and will grant access if requested. It is between a National Park and a large nature preserve.
But am still kinda mad at the woman who was angry at me for denying general access to my land because she “bought gas, rented a cabin and contributed to the local economy.”
And why, as a private landowner, would I care?
We no longer grant permission to anyone. This, after one family came out, after being granted permission, and built a camp fire. Nope, never again.
