aww selena and woody … so many rails after such an easy looking XC for them yesterday
This is not the first time Andrew Nicholson has presented an obviously lame horse at Badminton. I would think by now he knows what a lame horse looks like. If not, maybe the booing from the crowd could clue him in?
Nereo is 18, has done so much in his career and very much deserves retirement. He also deserves a better retirement parade than trotting up lame at Badminton.
Were there some boos coming from the spectators while he was jogging him?
I know Nick Luc is the main commentator, but who is the side man?
Show jumping is pixelating like crazy now.
Re: Jonty
The horse just didn’t have enough impulsion and ended up jumping the front rail and getting stuck in the middle of the oxer. Jonty, realizing the horse was pretty stuck, hopped off yelling “Shit shit shit”…tried to get the front rail off himself, yelled for people to come help. Then the camera cut away but the commentators kept saying the horse is fine, horse is fine. Sounds like the horse is fine, as someone previously posted that they posted an update.
anyone else’s feed gone?
My feed is gone, too. Stops and starts and is unwatchable. I emailed and asked for a refund. I couldn’t watch much yessterday but expected there would be replays available…nope. What a waste of money. AND because I followed the links put out by EN and the Badminton site for the Horse and Country live feed, I ended up paying for a UK and US subscription.
mine is fine … lauren completes with one rail
Sadly a pole for Lauren Kieffer in an otherwise lovely round
I am cheering for any one other than townend to win after that whipping of the horse yesterday
ian stark I think
Yes!!
Well you got your wish. I couldn’t agree more
I’m thrilled to bits that Jonelle took it from Ollie!
Wow, Jonelle rubbed every rail and a couple popped up and landed back in the cups. So happy for her.
That was a terffic nail biring finish! So happy for the winner!!!
Also I liked the new scoring. Much more excitement for the spectators, and room for movement on the leader board. Will need continued oversight of those competitors who can’t balance their competitiveness with their horses’ welfare.
That was exciting and well done to Jonelle! Technology is amazing - I was able to covertly watch it live while sitting in church!
I hate that I feel this way, but I was thinking I was going to have to make a FB post about two dark weeks for eventing–the queen of the bloody mouth wins the national championship at KY, and then Mr. Whiphappy wins Badminton and the Rolex Grand Slam. But, we were saved … by a plain TB mare and her NZ angel.
I noticed Ollie didn’t carry a whip with either horse today. I did see him waving the whip at them yesterday. I am sure he did hit them, but I did see him waving the whip at the horses.
On the lighter side, I hope someone got a good photo of Otis Price grabbing the Armada Trophy (presented by Princess Anne) from Tim and then licking it. I hear he planted a big smacker on Charlotte Coleman, too. Watch out for that boy.
