It’s totally weird. I have android tablet in one hand and android oreo phone in the other. Can watch H&H stream on phone but not badminton stream. Cannot watch either on tablet, after watching most on VPN which then said not available in your location.
Luckily Sat CC is on BBC Sport website.

Lately, I am told at a lot of websites that I have an ad blocker on. After disabling it for a website, I am still refused access. and believe me, it certainly doesn’t block ads! But the H&H site doesn’t mention ad blocker. Just says it isn’t allowed.

With all due respect to the tech folks in the back who are sweating this, I can understand how it is very difficult to actually test the demands on a network infrastructure for an event like this before the event actually happens. It can be done, but it takes a lot of resources that some providers probably just don’t have.

I emailed H&C and got a prompt response:

We are sorry that the quality of picture and sound from Badminton 2018 this afternoon (Wednesday 2nd May) is distorted and patchy.

We are working hard with our supplier at Badminton to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

Please bear with us while we work to resolve this known issue.

Badminton FB page also posted an apology. Hopefully I can watch a jog replay tonight and get my tweed fix. :lol:

WTH? Last year we could watch for free from the Badminton website & it worked well. In previous years it was on FEI TV & yes, you had to subscribe but it also worked well. It sounds like it’s really hard to successfully subscribe to H&C TV & if you do, the live stream isn’t working so great. Current (& attempted) subscribers, please keep us posted so the rest of us know whether it’s worth it to try or not!

The badminton website feed is awesome. FYI…if you are accessing through VPN and you get a message saying that you are in the wrong area…don’t fret. REFRESH the page. Your VPN will work.

anyone watching the video? I am listening on the radio and they were questioning Foxwood High’s soundness at the trot. I do find it refreshing the UK commentators sure tell it like it is regarding what they see in front of them.

Looks like in the US, our “legal” access is via Horse and Country TV which is a subscription service which you can purchase for $9 a month or (I think) $60 for the year.

I can get it on our Roku; tried to subscribe yesterday but don’t seem to have been successful. Will try again today. My plan is to cancel after the first month unless it has a lot of content I like.

Difference between GB time and Pacific time US is 8 hours. I believe the jog is scheduled for 4pm local time tomorrow which would put it at 8am Pacific (11am Eastern).

ETA: Supposedly able to access on any device once you are subscribed e.g. smartphone, Roku, computer.

Guess my money is no good. Tried multiple times to subscribe and can’t get it to work. Ugh.
