Barn Colors

All of my equipment is hunter green with gold trim and cream piping. I bought my equipment at a time I knew I would be imminently changing barns as I was moving, and figured I might as well buy colors that looked good on my horse. It happened that the next 3 farms all had green as a base color, so my equipment wasn’t ordered out of sight at shows.

My current farm is navy, Carolina blue, and white and black trim. Matches everything and it’s not hard for students to find stock coordinating options- lots of our kids have Dover’s gray, navy, and light blue dress sheets, for example, which fits right in without breaking the bank. Getting the Carolina blue right on vinyl trunks and drapes was apparently a bit of a job, though, as for some companies it was a custom color.

Navy, chocolate brown, and black/white. Looks good on all horses, some contrast and easy to find items. If chocolate isn’t available I might change to tan. It’s not that unusual but I really like it… easy to clean too.

I had this discussion with Valley Vet years go when ordering a fleece cooler.
Navy body, burgundy trim and Old Gold monogram.
At first clerk taking my order insisted the monogram had to be same as trim color, but when I pointed out:
1- they were 2 different materials, both listed as available in the colors I wanted
&
2- I’d cancel the order rather than do as she claimed was the only way…

End result: I got my “custom” cooler - still using it 20+yrs later

I was mostly hunter green and something decades ago before I made up my mind, and the trainer I rode with for a very long time had hunter green, black trim and beige piping, so I happily kept those colors even after I moved out of state (at the time my trailer was custom painted beige w/hunter green trim to match my truck so I was already pretty committed to the colors!). These days I am transitioning to CDE and (big shocker) my apron/hat/jacket colors are … hunter green and beige with some other accents.

Hunter green, ugly yellow and tan.

Muted sky blue with grey.

Chocolate, turquoise, and cream though I do have a number of pieces in chocolate, dark teal, and cream.
