Barn Landscaping

Have you seen the Texas Sage plants? They look very nice.

Also I’m obsessed with pink guarra lol.

I am a huge fan of planting native plants. That way you can plant them and pretty much not have to deal with them. They evolved to live in your climate, soil, etc.

They also encourage; butterflies, birds, pollenators to visit your property.

This site has some great resourses.

I’m just about to order a few Arizona Cypress to help screen the full-sun section of a fenceline – planted one there years ago, and it’s been bulletproof. I’ve tried several other things along this fence, including Texas Sage – which surprised me when it couldn’t hack it.

Extremely drought tolerant, grows relatively quickly (couple of feet per year).

Something to consider when planting right along side the barn is 1) the dew on the leaves of the plants will be in direct contact with the metal or wood barn sides and 2) you’re making a little pest-highway that mice and other critters can run along without feeling exposed.

Just something I think of when I see big/thick/lush greenery directly in contact with a structure.
