Yeah, and Bates saddles are now made in Vietnam, with significant differences from the originals.

Oh, I’ve almost made the same mistake several times (almost posted on an old thread). My response was prompted in part by regrets over the demise of the Australian-made saddles, which IME were far superior–at least in terms of durability and quality–to the newer versions.
