PLEASE! I have a palomino and it is so hard to keep her tail clean and white! not to mention her favorite hobby is pooping on her tail…ew…
You HAVE to keep it up to keep it white without using harsh products. I kept mine in a sock and washed it weekly, leaving in a ton of conditioner, and only used quicksilver prior to shows - but it stayed white all the time.
Edit: To trailer I had to wrap the top of his tail. I did a pretty loose ace bandage, but they actually have neoprene tail wraps now.
