Alushield didn’t work for me. I need something as a physical barrier. Elasticon FTW so far!

per my earlier post those were ripped apart in 2 days. I had high hopes!
Elastikon?

Whoops, see that you tried that, hope it continues to work!
Gorilla brand duct tape is seriously good stuff, if the elastikon doesn’t work out.

I think you are asking if the stuff this article calls “Magic tape. Expensive magic tape.” is Elastkon. It is. Most tack stores have it. I love it.

Actually, I understood that the article was referring to elastikon. I posted the link because it had other ideas for dealing with hock sores.
Then I realized that Xan has tried the elastikon, and so far, so good. Yay!

Well bumping this again because Elastikon only sort-of works. I apply daily and by next day it’s either gone, or hanging my a thread. Sores are dry but not healing (I put a dab of Corona ointment on sore before Elastikon too)
Has anyone tried superglueing something to hocks to protect them?
What about adhesive felt tape like this?
I also recommend the Ultra Hock Shield boots. They have worked wonders for my guy who even though he has a nice in/out stall he prefers to lay down in the “out” part that has a way of sprouting rocks.
I second these. I have used them on two different horses (one small and one large) and they have worked wonderfully.
Upthread I mentioned I’d tried those, and they were destroyed in a day or so.
How about the Maalox, Xan? I know it sounds off the wall, but I saw improvement in the horse it was used on.
Haven’t tried it - just saw your post. Will get some today!
