Wow! That is a LOT of packages, Bensmom–and one of them is all miiiiiiiiiiine!
Bentley – I think what I need to do is to just figure shipping, and invoice you through paypal – I think that would work!
I should be able to do that for Austraila and Canada too!
Remind me next week and we’ll sort it out!
Thank you!
Warning: 2 out of 3 cats felt the need to taste the vanilla lavender
Dear Libby,
I have been using your soap for a couple of weeks now and have zero complaints!!
My tack is easily cleaned with minimal soap (my sample could last a long time, so I will use the excuse of trying other scents to place an order). It turns out clean, supple with just the right amount of shine. I am using the Citrus Ginger scent and love it.
I generally take pretty good care of my tack and it is nice to use a product that does the job well. Clearly, all these pages of rave reviews are proof enough of the quality of the product!!
Many thanks!!
OOh! One of those would be mine! So excited!
Hey Libby! Do you have business cards yet? I’m a BEAST at placing business cards everywhere :). I peppered my barn with a friend’s cards for her custom saddle pads and DH’s cards for his braided and leather tack accessories, and if I can sneak off the island next week, I’ll be putting them up at the tack stores there too!
I do! I can send you some!
It makes me so happy that folks are pleased! Now, I’ve got to send out some other boxes on Monday!
Libby
I hope you’re making some money off us! all this hard work your doing sounds like it’s about to pay off
So I pulled out my soap (van/lav) and let Rory man smell on it after we rode today. He was a little stressed because there is a PC prep going on, so lots of new horses all calling and being loud, plus trucks and trailers and campers oh my! He smelled and smelled on it, and smelled on it some more. He got very happy and relaxed too.
Yup, doing my uber icky schooling bridle today, in preparation for our lesson tomorrow. Hahah!!

Yay!!! I’ll harass you next week for sure
I got my soap on Tuesday, but rain Wed-Thurs prevented me from using it until yesterday. What a tease! This soap is definitely different than any I have used before, virtually no suds, light and pleasant scent, and best of all, it cleans the leather so well without making me feel like I immediately need to wash my hands after cleaning tack! Definitely will be recommending it around the barn, anything to get the kids more interested in cleaning their tack!
Ok I did place an order after reading this thread… I guess its great for cleaning polo bridles and Saddles too!!!
Just have to let everyone know what a classy person Libby is. I was owed a refund for extra shipping. I asked her to donate it to OnefundBoston instead. Not only did she do as I asked, she added to it.
Thank you Libby. Using your saddle soap will be even sweeter now.
Anyone care to comment how their tack cleaned a week ago is feeling now?
Rode in my saddle yesterday, felt fine. I did oil it after cleaning because it was drrrrrrrrrry. FWIW, the crappy surcingle is still not moldy. Still loving it. Cleaning my nasty schooling bridle last night was a breeze, especially considering it was so nasty that it left a brown stripe across Rory’s nose yesterday (oops). It is soft and smooth and clean. I used extra water for some scrubbing power on the nose band and the reins near the bit, otherwise wipe on/wipe off. I liked that I didn’t have a ton of foam to contend with on the reins, getting foam out of the lacing is such a PITA.
I’m bringing mine out today to try to get my trainer interested, and then sending it off with a friend for use (grudgingly, but even I have to admit that I am not a daily cleaner and have no need to hoard it for a week…).
FINALLY have the time to sit down at a computer and type a full review (I didn’t want to have to type it all out on my phone - ugh).
Libby, this stuff is Awesome! Seriously, with a capital A. I should be ashamed to say it, but it appears I’m not the only one so I’ll admit it… I don’t exactly clean my tack very often. I’m usually an ‘only when it is really nasty and before shows’ type of girl. I do try to wipe my tack down every few rides with lexol wipes, but it is just hard to talk myself into full cleaning more than a few times a year. This stuff may change me… I’ve already cleaned my tack more in the past 2 weeks than I have total in the six months prior.
I can definitely see where this is a nice daily cleaner. It is easy to use and quick. I love that it is a conditioning soap, so I don’t have to use a wash and then also condition everything. One and done - love it! BUT, the bonus for me was that even though it is a “daily” soap, it REALLY did the trick to get off all of the old build up and gunk from my tack that hadn’t been cleaned in several months. I had a breastplate that was covered in 3+ month old dried sweat (I used it for my last jump lesson in December before the snow/cold came in and left it hanging in the trailer ). With just a little extra force, all of that nasty came RIGHT off. And it wasn’t like I was REALLY scrubbing hard the way I have had to with some other soaps/cleaners - just that little extra bit of weight from my fingers and some extra suds took it off in a blink. The leather felt restored and soft the next day. Even better now that I’ve cleaned it after each ride I’ve used it for since. I also cleaned my bridles, saddles, half chaps, tall boots, and my 12+ year old paddock boots. The paddock boots have probably only been thoroughly cleaned less than a dozen times in the years I’ve owned them. The last time I cleaned them was well over a year ago. They were GROSS. Dried sand/dirt all over them. I couldn’t believe the difference after a quick round with your soap! Just… amazing. I took before/after pictures of these if you’d like me to send them to you. Also, took some of my Dressage bridle since it was the dirtiest of my bridles. Unfortunately, didn’t think to get pictures of the breastplate since it was the first thing I tackled.
I love the scent! I received the Buzz’s Citrus Ginger. I am another individual who is very sensitive to scents and I really like this - it is ‘politely’ noticeable. Not overpowering or in your face. I was worried at first as I wasn’t sure which sample I’d get. I love vanilla, but lavender tends to give me a headache if overly strong. Now… I think I might have been okay with even that scent. In fact, I plan on putting in an order soon to get another few soaps - probably one in each scent - to give to a few people as gifts. Can’t wait to smell them all!
The icing on the cake to this being a great product = the small business aspect and attention to detail you’ve given it. I love that you make it in your kitchen at home, have named the scents after horses you love, and include a hand written thank you note with the package. I’m hooked!
Wow!
GnG, that brought tears to my eyes – I could NOT have done this without the help of COTH’s Eventers – I’ve had the ULR that has used this stuff for years tell me that I need to be selling it – but until y’all agreed to review it and encouraged me, I was too scared to take that step. I’ve always given it away, and I guess I was afraid that no one would want to pay me for it! I was wrong!
I’m not terribly professional yet – I have to be reminded sometimes to make sure I send stuff, and I still let the rest of my daily grind get too much in the way, but I’m working on it! I cannot thank you guys enough! And, you’ve been patient with stuff such as the fact that I haven’t shipped the remaining samples to folks yet – I keep making very rookie mistakes like running out of shipping envelopes, but there have been a good many ordered from the post office, so I’m sure I will soon look even more official!
This week, despite the clan gathering that is happening at my house on Saturday (OMG – 100 people at my farm! It is a good thing the outside and the paddocks look good! :D) I want to begin pulling together the reviews y’all have shared with me and I’ll try to contact everyone individually and make sure y’all are cool with me using your kind words!
I can’t wait to get the new logo and the new labels! But, at this point, it will still be made in my kitchen, and shipped by me and the DH, who has appointed himself the VP of packing and shipping.
Thank you guys for making a dream of mine come true – now lets get ME cleaning my tack and riding my horse!
Libby (who IS going to get back to BN someday!!)
Thought you might enjoy knowing that your soap just came up via my facebook newsfeed, through a friend who is not on COTH. After spending another weekend cleaning trainer’s bridles with icky glycerine (I really hate residue) I think I need to place an order soon…when the next paycheck comes in!
Libby-
Still loving my tester soap and so is everyone else!!! I’m trying so hard to be patient because I absolutely can barely wait to get this stuff in stock!!!
Ordered Thurs - recv’d this morning - talk about exceptional service!! Can’t wait to try it. I’ll report back . . .
