Best airlines for travelling with or shipping dogs

They don’t put the dogs on the luggage conveyor belts anymore. They are brought out on luggage carrier carts after being offloaded. But I have to say, that must have been many, many years ago. I used to work at the Atlanta airport for a month at a time and the luggage conveyors are inside the airport. Not easily available to the streets and I never saw dogs on the conveyors. They don’t fly dogs during certain heat ranges if they have to be sitting on the tarmac, they are in climatized zones inside the cargo area. That is why some airlines no longer fly dogs, they don’t have those zones and there are regulations now preventing flying of pets in certain temperatures. Does anyone realize how many dogs are flown now? United alone has stats for flying thousands of dogs per year and the media really loves to talk about the ones that get away, how about the thousands that don’t and arrive perfectly safely. Like mine, 12 week old Labrador puppy, flew in June from Dulles Airport in Virginia to Seattle, non stop. Just fine. All of the dogs and cats that were on that flight were fine. Cats were meowing and a little upset, but they were cats, in the cargo, just over a year ago, cross country flight and they arrived just fine.
