Best bute tablet “treat” ideas

I’m feeding Previcox quarters in Dollar General brand strawberry fruit bars (like Fig Newtons) - mainly just to ensure they get eaten due to the tiny size. My dogs all line up for their strawberry cookies too. Definitely cheaper than the name brand stuff.

Love the Fig Newton idea!
I shove quarter tabs of Previcox in the center of a peppermint Lifesaver when miss mare decides to shun the tiny tablet to the corner of her feed bucket. They wedge into the little hole of the mint quite nicely. She gets a normal mint, followed by a pill mint, with a normal mint chaser. Not sure they’re all necessary but we don’t question her requests. I don’t think that would work for Bute, though - not small enough and I don’t think the taste of the mint is strong enough to mask the yuck of Bute.

Bute tastes awful. I would fork out the bucks and get a tube and know you are getting the right amount into him. My horses would not eat it willingly in anything. By the time you try all the things to " hide" it in you’ve spent more than the tube cost…

Wedgewood Pharmacy has a bute powder that my “bute detector” would gladly eat dressed into feed.
