Best Fly Mask That Stays On

I’m curious… how do you keep just the neck cover from sliding up and twisting if it’s not connected to a fly sheet? I could totally see a leg getting in there while grazing. I believe the loop on the mask would be to connect to a halter.

Another vote for Shires. My guy has a broad jaw and every other mask was tight across the eyes. The darts on these masks seem to be oriented differently from cashel. No ears … that is what his neighbor will grab.

I am using the Durvet Duramask without ears…They withstand the washing machine better than the Noble ones. My horse prefers them w/o ears. I am rotating my masks every day while treating a Florida sore on his face so they are definitely being washed frequently in my washer. The mesh does not shred like the Noble ones.

We went with these because they sit close enough to the head we thought they’d stay on. We have a 17 hand TB and a 14 hand arab that are best friends and the arab spends a good deal of time attempting to remove his friend’s things.

We had originally taken halters off to prevent halter damage, but when the lycra mask went missing twice we put the halter back on. Somehow the arab is getting the mask off his friend, out from under the halter. It’s annoying. If TB puts his head up arab wouldn’t even be able to reach it.
