Equiderma and the Lavender Dream ones are basically the only things that don’t give my horses hives. I did just pick up a bottle of Ultra Shield Gold to see if I could spray some areas around them to start, maybe the fly sheets of the stuff doesn’t try to kill me like EcoVet (some of the same active ingredients). I did take a whiff of an opened bottle and didn’t want to choke, so decided to give it a try. We’ll see once it’s sprayed.
One of my guys keeps picking up ticks while we are in SC. I got some Off as well as these geraniol stickers for kids that I put under the tail flap and on belly surcingles of his fly sheet. He likes to hang out under some trees all afternoon. Off also for trail rides. He’s also the one super allergic to all the bugs and they just drive him crazy, even with allergy shots and Zyrtec.
My big guy is sweating too much in a fly sheet, so I’m hoping the Ultra Shield doesn’t do us in so I can spray him with that and he can just wear fly mask and boots.
