Purina St/Ox is what my vet recommended.
Mine were on Science Diet CD, but they like the Purina food much better and they don’t throw up all the time anymore.

Update: He is out of surgery and doing fine. Surgeon said he had THE tiniest urethra she had ever seen, which is why the surgery took twice as long as it usually does. He’s on a boatload of pain meds and they are keeping him until Saturday.
Thanks for all the jingles and kind thoughts. You guys are the best!

Poor guy. Jingles and let us know when he’s out of surgery and in the clear.
Just out of curiosity, what is the after care for a surgery like that? Are there stitches? Glue?[/QUOTE]
It’s almost micro-surgery and the stitches are internal. They hold the urethra to the skin and nothing more. My guy didn’t have to wear the cone of shame nor did he do any excessive licking.

Glad to hear that he has made it through surgery. Here’s hoping that his recovery is easy.
