Kind of scary looking but I do want to try them.
I love these things! I have two pairs: one for the face and one for the body. I need to get a third pair for the legs.
I use cholesterol for tail and mane.
I have a furminator for grooming, too.
Ohhh. I will have to see if Aldi down here has some of those. Kool!
Baby wipes. For just about everything.
I thought I was the only one feeding DT gingersnaps…
I also use a carwash chamois (shammy) glove thing from DT to apply flyspray, etc to faces.
Yikes. I had absolutely no idea. I always loved the pictures of them, they look so fluffy. But based on what you guys have told me, I’ll stay wide and clear of anything looking like “support.” Gross.
Lord, you weren’t kidding about the price! Wowza!
Listerine - the original gold. It works underneath bell boots to mitigate fungus, it works to help with itchy tails, it helps to detangle.
Desitin (extra strength, 40% zinc oxide) is another human product we horse people swear by.
My first thought on reading this was Abu Ghraib etc.
Same! I had no idea about this cow showing torture. Humans make me sometimes.
Anyhow - yes to microfiber squares and towels, human antibiotic or plant-based ointments, wound wash, thin med gloves, etc., and my favorite winter tool, a hair dryer (for warming bits, drying the horse’s coat, etc.). Also, a shop vac for those muddy months.
I am sure I use many other non “equestrian/horse” products but don’t remember them just this moment lol
Same for rider clothing - anything that is marketed for equestrians is just 2x or 3x the price. Like those vests. Or rain /winter jackets. I just need something with a double zipper, and I’m good
might be because if they actually win they will cash in bigtime, last January here at the 2023 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo grand champion steer named “Snoop Dog” sold for $440,000 at auction on Saturday.
This is insane.
I can almost understand paying big bucks for a champion bull or cow, but those are some pretty expensive steaks!
Tomorrow (cow med) for thrush.
Dog dematting rake to thin manes super fast for braiding! https://www.chewy.com/pet-republique-dematting-rake/dp/155581?utm_source=google-product&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=Pet%20Republique&utm_campaign=20203340297&utm_term=&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADmQ2V3VuOf9nVkUlNjnaHd5xHiH6&gclid=Cj0KCQjw1aOpBhCOARIsACXYv-d8dx0oKFrJ8A9SffR35mizFaFQroakx4sS07m3XR9YrhfJh7LrLRUaAsS_EALw_wcB
Dog undercoat rakes to remove the last of the shedding winter coat belly hair. These are currently out of stock at Jeffers, but they’re what I’ve successfully used on the basic woolly mammoth type; worked great on those sweaty matting patches that didn’t want to let go:
I go to a certain DT most often & the cashiers sometimes comment when I buy 3 bags at a time
I tell them who they’re for, I don’t even like gingersnaps
@Jarpur Jeffers site says “currently unavailable”
But I got this from TSC for $8.99 & it does a great job for shedding
Old cloth diapers. I’m not kidding. They are great for cleaning tack. Also great for wound care. My horse included one in a Secret Santa gift to a pasturemate. The owner was about 16 and he held the diaper up for a couple of minutes, turning it around and staring at it. Finally asked what it was. What kind of a dumb quesiton was that! Oh wait. I was 71 at the time.
My very last batches of feminine hygiene products went into the barn first aid kit because they’ve got to be useful as bandaging or abscess pads. But I haven’t had a use for them yet.
Tampons can be useful for really bad deep frog thrush. Stick it in there and then soak with your favorite antibiotic or antiseptic.
What a good idea!
