It’s not that simple. In the same way that some dressage saddles will allow for a balanced seat with some riders and others will promote a chair seat, western saddles are no different.
The main factors in determining a balanced seat are the distance between the lowpoint/flat of the seat and the location of the stirrup hanger (should be about the length of the distance from your heel to the ball of your foot), the location of the flat/low point on the saddle along its seating length, and the shape of the seat itself.
