Thanks to this thread and my FB feed, I ended up in Colorado this week at Daisy Bicking’s Integrative Hoof Care workshop. It is amazing. I just texted my dressage coach that it’s like grad school for trimmers. Luckily I’d watched a couple of her webinars with Wendy Murdoch, and have had other random education about hooves/trimming over the 15 years I’ve been doing it, so I’ve been able to tread water and learn a ton. This class is 80% professionals, so I wouldn’t suggest it for someone who is new to trimming as an owner, but it’s super if you’re ready to dive in. She is complimentary of the base trim that K.C. La Pierre teaches, (she said it gave her the base to get to where she is today) so that might be a good starting place. I was going to do one of his workshops in Florida until this opportunity cropped up. I’ll probably do his in the future when it’s a little closer to me.
