Best wicking coolers

Bumping this thread since I just had a chance to really test out the cooler I got for Christmas and was very impressed. My horse’s sheet got completely soaked through today from the rain (and judging from how much mud was on it I suspect a nice roll in a puddle…). I put his cooler on and threw him in his stall while I cleaned my tack and he was pretty much dry after just 30 minutes. I had a fleece cooler for my last horse and never felt like it did anything so was pleasantly surprised by the results, especially for the price (I got it on sale for less than $100 but even full price it’s a pretty good deal). I think he found it nice and cozy too since he’s a total grump when he gets cold and as soon as the cooler went on he was back to his usual sweet self.

Centaur Turbo Dry works really well

Interesting, looks like it’s similar to a Thermatex sheets (got one years ago when they popped up on Tack of the Day).

That’s what I wound up getting - it was the right price. Though it works okay, I’m sure it’s not as good as the Smartpak cooler - but I have trouble justifying paying over $100 for a cooler. sigh

I have a terry cloth cooler. Custom made. I bought a couple yards of terry on Amazon and bound it. Finding a cooler for a 50" pony is a challenge. Works pretty well and was $40 by the time I was done.

I love that one, unfortunately they don’t have it in an 81. But I am going to keep an eye on it.
And yes, @Larbear it does look similar to a Thermatex rug that I bought years ago too!
