Best Winter Riding Jacket?

That coat looks awesome, I can well imagine it is worth the money.

I had an assortment of Kyra K jackets and coats when I was riding, expensive but so pretty with lots of great features for people who ride, which is how I justified the cost LOL. They stopped producing Kyra K about ten years ago when she got other financing but the clothes were just as nice only I can’t remember the new name they were being sold under. But if you google it appears lots of Kyra K stuff is still available on ebay and other places. It was windproof, waterproof and/or water resistant and well worth the money.

LL Bean Down jackets are 850 down fill and super warm/lightweight

I ended up buying the Horze jacket I linked to here and love it! It’s super warm but definitely breathable. Will certainly checkout the mountain horse when I need a new one!

It truly is (especially now that the polar vortex split). I keep finding useful little touches, like it has these huge big pockets with zippers and a snap for phones, etc., but it also has a “handwarmer” slip in pocket underneath for easy access for cold hands.

I have a Mountain Horse jacket in a model that’s no longer made. I’ve been wearing that sucker for 10 years. It’s indestructible! It’s made for riding (tail flaps and such), but is great for barn work, too. I guess the closest current Mountain Horse jacket would be the Alicia Jacket. Their Pepper jacket looks nice as well. Anyways, I would buy Mountain Horse again in an instant! Warm, practical, flattering, and durable.

No longer available…

Buddy, this thread and it’s links are 3 years old.

I love Eddie Bauer and also Columbia’s Omni heat with the reflective dots. I think they really do make a difference!

3 year old thread but I still love my LLBean Rugged Ridge parka. Two way zipper, hood that fits over my helmet and it’s pretty light.

Thanks to whomever bumped this up! I’m in the market again and will look into the newer suggestions!
