Bit Advice

Here is another vote for titanium bits.

I simply cannot afford the Lorenzini bits especially with the postage costs.

However I found titanium coated bits, and now the Fager titanium mouthpiece bits. The titanium coated bits (usually “rainbow” are around a third of the cost of the Lorenzinis, and the Fager bits tend to be around $100.00 USD cheaper AND they have free postage.

I have MS and I have hand tremors, plus my hands don’t always know where they are. The horses are much more forgiving of my contact problems with the titanium bits, so long I keep my fingers loose and supple. In the heat of the summer my hands worsen significantly, and there is only one type of stainless steel bit that the horses could stand me using, the Wellep which is not made any more. However, with the same mouthpieces as the unacceptable stainless steel bits, the titanium or titanium coated bits were acceptable through the heat of the summer. This includes the double bridle.
