Blow dryers and Horses - Anyone?

Have you tried the old fashioned way ? A rub with a dry towel is quick, easy,
and stimulates the circulation in the muscles, keeping them warm and relaxed.

I may be too late, but I have a Bit of Britain non slip pad that I used under a quilted cotton pad. I find in the colder weather (below freezing) my horse’s saddle area stays almost perfectly dry even when his chest, shoulders, neck and flanks are soaked. Counter intuitive, I know, but the pad has a lot of tiny holes and I think what’s happening is his sweat is effectively steam in the cold and it just goes through the non slip pad without condensing on his hair. The cotton pad is often damp so the sweat steam is condensing there.

The non slip pad cost me 35 CDN so it might be worth a try.

If you can be around to take care of pony. They seem to dry off pretty well with wicking coolers. Change as needed. If you need the animal dry fast, then you likely need a dryer. Good luck.

Hi I’m Mike and I’m the president of Wilsun horse blankets. We’re back and better then ever. If you are looking for a safe effective way to dry you’re horse we are the USA distributors for Sundance. The number 1 brand in Europe. We stock solariums and all parts. We can provide warranty service and post warranty service right here in Alpharetta GA. Feel free to check out our fantastic new line of products!

I’d go with clip and blanket up as necessary. I board, and while I will always take the time necessary to cool out my horse properly - it is not practical to have to spend 45+ mins switching coolers/walking out.

This is what they use cattle dryers for:
