He is still selling the boots. They pulled the tack to improve it (ie people were really disappointed with the look and quality). Don’t know if they have re-launched it.

So there is no tack, despite the claim that “the results have been nothing less than fantastic!” and there’s such interest in selling “vegan” boots and two bracelets that they can’t accommodate the stampede of wannabe wholesalers?

I wonder what the boots are made of? They claim “eco friendly” but they don’t provide any information at all about the materials used.
The production of synthetic materials is seldom “eco friendly”. More info regarding the materials might help them with their target market.

In my opinion $1,200-$2,100 is a big ask for fake leather boots.

I believe “pineapple leather”, but I am not familiar enough with the process to comment on its eco friendliness

Pineapple? That’s interesting.

I wonder why they don’t provide any information about the wonderful “eco friendly” process of making pineapple into boots and saddles? I’d expect them to be eager to share the news with those of us who have never heard of it.

Seems a pros and cons item. I’m not sure that it is more sustainable or environmentally sound than regular leather, given that it relies on commercial ag, and petroleum, and is itself not biodegradable.

The “Pineapple Leather” material would be Pinatex, which is derived from Pineapple fibre.

Nobody seems to be using it for Equestrian goods at the moment.

Well, it’s synthetic which makes it as"vegan" as vinyl and plastic, but not really “eco friendly” .

There is a thread on RD vegan line with a lot more info. Made in India isnt it?

I thought that the point that

@ladyj79
was making was that YDs claim was that as the undisputed expert on the issue (the oceanographer) having conducted the investigation, that SS might, in the mind of the respondent, not be viewed as impartial in the role of adjudicating his guilt or innocence.

Contrary to the position of YD, I thought Ladyj was taking the position that because they are the undisputed experts in the investigation, the respondent should not gripe about SS providing the adjudication based on its own investigation in precisely the same way that a criminal defendant should not gripe about his case being adjudicated by the chief of police after the evidence is obtained in the police investigation. The chief of police and the police detectives are different people after all.

aren’t you YD?

Goodness. Now we’ve hit the speaking of oneself in the 3rd person level.

I thought we were on a three day break (like COTH Jesus)? Or have we just transitioned over to the Morris thread and back? (OK, I swear I’m done now.)

Damn straight.

Not infrequently posters who disagree with me make a dramatic show of disgust and announce they refuse to engage me in the “discussion”, but then keep taking shots at me by simply talking about me in the third person.

When people do that (announce they are ignoring me but continue to take cheap shots at me in the third person), I sometimes respond to them in the third person.

I assumed that Ladj was saying something deeper than that I believed that the ocean was lemon curd or chocolate pudding, but perhaps that was her claim.

Didn’t you say you were going to not check back in on this thread for three days
