I don’t support Diane Carney’s position and I’m not playing devils advocate for her position.
I am explaining how my position on the exact timing of the “impartial hearing” within the SS process can be used to deflate Diane Carney’s position. I am also contending that YOUR position unwittingly lends some credence to Diane Carney’s criticism of SS.Noooooooo!!!

smoofox thinks that referring to oneself in the third person is rather peculiar. smoofox would also like to announce that smoofox is not an alter. smoofox did have a previous screen name but there was some kind of weird glitch many years ago and smoofox could no longer log in at COTH as smoofox’s original screen name. smoofox therefore became smoofox - not a stripper name but a shortened version of smooth fox terrier- one of which owned smoofox at the time.

I do not support George Morris, Robert Gage, or Robert McDonald or any athlete banned by USEF.
I understand Steve Milne has also been banned, but had not heard of him before and have no clue what town he is from.
Actually, I remember a post of yours in which you made a reference to “the amazing Smoofox”. Isn’t that third person?
But it’s nice to know the origin of the screen name.
Maybe it was a snarky response to something - but no, I do not use the third person on a regular basis in any way. shrug
I cringe when people do it. I cringe when the President does it. I cringed typing out that post to use as an example.
I am flattered that for some reason you remembered one amazing post though.

The reason that I remembered it is that at the time I read it, it struck me as really bizarre that someone would not just use the third person, but use it to describe themselves as “the amazing Smoofox”.
I did not say I considered the post amazing (actually I don’t remember anything else about the post), just that you had characterized yourself as amazing. But I suppose that when it comes to the amazingness of your posts, what matters is the opinion of the writer not the reader, no?

Who, Milne? I said that I do NOT support any athletes banned by USEF. That would include Milne.
Well he was banned without a fair hearing? So what’s your defense? Or do you only care about who BNTs care about? Because No one has mentioned him. Not Robert Dover, Not AES.

Re: Milne. I take it he has been banned but has not had his arbitration yet. I have extreme confidence that SS would not have stated that they found the allegations of misconduct credible unless they had a solid case and were 99% sure that when SS as the investigators had to take the role of prosecutor in the arbitration, they could meet their burden of proof in front of the retired judge. Not only do I not support him, I consider him a pedophile, given my confidence in SS being able to defend their ban. I would mildly note with an asterix that his arbitration has not been completed.
Re: Bob McDonald. Exactly the same words as for Milne. Do not support. Confident ban will be upheld by the judge. In the privacy of my own mind he is a pedophile.
This has to do with a presumption of innocence. You and I don’t need to presume he’s innocent, either one of them until after the arbitration. Only the arbitration judge has to give those two men a presumption of innocence going into the arbitration.
This is about Debbie McDonald and her friends and Olympic teammates. If she wants to DECLINE to condemn him as a pedophile until AFTER he has had the full fledged, obviously impartial formal arbitration hearing in front of a retired judge, that is her right and does not make her a pedophile supporter. She’s just choosing to give him a presumption of innocence.
Likewise the teammates who clicked on a single post of RD which did NOT explicitly undermine SS or express support for any banned athletes, and only expressed support for the wife of a man who has not yet had his formal hearing.
If, after the arbitration upholds the ban, DM
says anything substantially different from “This is incredibly painful and I request privacy, but nevertheless I fully respect SS and the decision of the arbitrator”, I’ll condemn her then. But not now.
Whether she divorces him, leaves but stays married, or stays with him is 100% her decision.
