boot rubs

I have a horse with a club foot. It is pretty straight down with the coronet band sticking out slightly. Because of that, her boot rubs the band. I’m looking for suggestions on how to prevent the rubs. The boots are Easy Boot Trails.

Can you place a tube sock with the foot cut off over that part of her foot and pastern?

that might work. maybe put some cotton underneath the sock for extra protection. thanks for the idea.

I use Cavallo Simple Boots and they actually sell a pastern wrap as an accessory but my local tack shop told me about using a SOCK. Maybe Easy Boot has a similar product!

I use zinc oxide (desitin) to prevent rubs. Just rub in into the skin where you suspect a rub may occur.

I always have Desitin on hand. I use it for dew burn anf scratches for my pintos. Thanks

I have read that knee high stockings are the best protection.

I bought the Pastern wrap and it was a waste of money. Didn’t even reach far enough up to do any good. Maybe try Vet Wrap?

My gelding has a slight club foot and we use easy boots.
use something like gold bond power and vet wrap with a piece of gauze where the rub is. you don’t need a lot. just enough to keep it in place under the boot.
