Boots for all day / night turnout

I have a four year old mare who goes out all day and comes in at night. In the summer she is typically out at night and in during the day. So she is out for approximately 8 to 10 hours a day. Recently she had some small nicks on the inside of her front legs when coming in from the field so we determined that it was best to put some boots on her while she is out to prevent her from knocking herself.

She gets turned out in euro-pro heidi boots - link for those not familiar: https://www.doversaddlery.com/euro-pro-heidi-galloping-horse-boots/p/X1-0427/&utm_campaign=NB_PLA_Retail_Mid-Atlantic_GOOG/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw28_XBRDhARIsAEk21Fhrcem_AYx9hDK66b54-ZuSB5TQGl60ypwVt82Pg5jC4KqRhb0w4coaAio7EALw_wcB

So my question is, is it safe for her to be in these boots almost everyday for this period of time? Honestly, I have never had a horse who needed boots for turnout (other than bell boots) so I am not sure. Are there other boots that might be a better option?

TIA

I don’t like fleece boots for turnout especially that long. Not so much for heat but they can get wet and dirty and cause irritation.

I recently got the PEI (Premier Equine) turnout boots for a horse with chronic bedsores, and they seem good so far and are easy to maintain. They say they are designed to be worn up to 12 hrs a day. I did have to order directly from the company in the UK, but it went smoothly, and even with shipping they were cheaper than the ones you are using.

I’ve used Woof Boots for daily turnout (about 12 hrs outside)… the price point is great, they don’t overheat or get waterlogged and you can throw them in the wash.

I sprinkle baby powder on my horse’s legs before putting the boots on to reduce rubs and haven’t had problems.
