Thanks!!!
I definitely plan to research and find a mentor or such before I would actually get any cows, I know I don’t know enough about them personally.
There are plain old British Whites and then there are Ancient British Whites. You have to be in some sort of rich person’s club to have ABW. I think you have to build a herd of 250 before you are even allowed to register them. Yeah, so, you have to be rich, lol.
I used to raise Dexters. We selected for long legged ones and sold the pregnant heifers halter trained and handled enough to be ready to milk after they calved. Short legged Dexters (chondrodysplasia carriers) aren’t suitable for milking, IMO.
How about training the one you keep to work as on Ox. Thet could do some light farm work and it might help to keep them behaving.
Panda is growing up fast. He only gets one daily bottle now that he’s eating creep feed. He and Norman had a hard day yesterday. They are both steers now. Since we only had two bull calves we had the vet come out. I hate banding. It hurts them for way too long. Too much stress.
Thank you for being “gentle” with respect to the boys’ removal of their “man parts” and having the vet do “the deed.”
