I’m nearish to you in ohio. Our family farm is outside Hillsboro. We always had herefords and angus when I was a kid- just a hobby, 2-3 cows a season.
Now, when I have cows again, I want heritage hobby types. I plan to get Piney Woods Cows (long horned but sweet and small) and also possibly some Scottish Highland Cows just because I love them. Probably a few years off though, I;m living in town at the moment.
