Are there other brands that offer products similar to Game Ready & Ice Vibe?
I’ve used the Game Ready for myself in the past and LOVVEEDDD it. Can’t say how it helped with healing, but my joints felt great after a GR session.

Show Ready Cordless Equine Ice System is one that came out after GR … no experience with it myself but maybe others will weigh in.
In my physical therapy schooling all of us had to do a project where we chose a topic then did a full review of the research to determine if it’s evidence based or not. I remember one of my classmates did ice with compression (so GameReady and other similar products) vs a bag of ice. She found that current research shows that there is no difference between the 2. People tend to say the GameReady feels better so obviously I am all for giving them the thing that feels the best to them. But at the end of the day the fancy machine isn’t really helping them heal faster. I can’t say how this translates into horses though.
I have the Ice Horse system. It works very well and my horse seems to like it. It is much more convenient for me to use ice boots that I keep in a freezer though. In fact, I bought a mini freezer so that I could take them to shows.
I have a DonJoy IceMan I got off ebay that I’ve used for icing cellulitis in the middle of winter. It was hard to tell how cold it got the leg since it was so cold outside, but it’s pretty quiet.
You can get a splitter so you can ice two legs at once and there are a ton of different pads you can get. I have the Universal pad and it works pretty well to get most of the fetlock, tendons, and part of the knee on my large horse.
I have Equomed Lumark. Tossed up between them and the ice vibes - but ice vibes can be a little limited in what the vibration setting can be used on. I really like my boots, legs are cold and tight afterwards and the boots actually stay cold for a good 20 or so minutes. They are compression boots.
You can try Zamar…they have small and large units that do heat and cold, and have a massage feature. More expensive than Game Ready…but more uses too. It is self-contained…so no need for ice. Plus it keeps a constant temp. Not as quick as throwing on a pair of ice boots…but great when rehabbing something more serious (like when my gelding fractured his splint bone).
