Full seat breeches are finicky. I have two types of Ariat full seat, one Fairfax and the other Sports. Hate the Sport and love the Fairfax. Unfortunately they discontinued Fairfax but luckily I got several pairs from eBay when I knew I loved them. Hunters/jumpers don’t really need full seat breeches, since they are on two points half of the time. Dressage riders are on their butts all the time so full seat become more important. No full seat is as comfortable as knee patches though. They do last longer in the “seat” area. Usually the “seat” outlasts the rest of the breeches.
What about just half seats?
I don’t like the “poopy diaper” feeling of baggy full seats. Half seats or extended patches reach right up to the crotch but don’t cover your bum. The rubbing thigh area is reinforced by the patches, and I can still move my seat bones in the saddle.
