Love me some nice chestnuts! I had a Weltmeyer gelding (grandson) and a lot of people immediately pegged him as a Weltmeyer. I never noticed how distinctive they can be until I started paying better attention and could peg some too. That being said, if he were a mare, you couldn’t have payed me to breed him :lol: Nice looking horse, but difficult as the day is long. If I were to breed a Weltmeyer, I would look at temperament and something with a nice front end. I mean, you want an overall nice match, but I just don’t like the tie-in/build of a lot of front ends on Weltmeyer bred horses. Just my personal experiences.
