Brentina's retirement ceremony?

Brentina - the poster girl to dispel the chestnut mare myth. Love her.

Very special mare with a very special rider - both have big hearts and were meant to be with each other. Happy retirement Brentina! You brought so much to US dressage. I’ll remember you forever! Thank you to sponsors and to Debbie for bringing to us such a joy to watch as Brentina – the gentle chestnut mare with a soft eye!

i don’t think there was a dry eye in the house that evening! having the media pass i was able to watch debbie & brentina “warm up” for their retirement and snap a picture or two. i posted some pictures of her in the warm-up area and that last walk down to the thomas & mack center from the warm-up.

i was also lucky enough to capture a video interview with debbie on saturday afternoon with horsegirltv so we’ll be launching it as a webisode at some point soon.

check out the pictures if you like. i blogged them at http://blog.horsegirltv.com/2009/04/new-wordpress-for-iphone/

definitely a special evening!

It was a very emotional cermony - Here’s a shot of Debbie & Brentina:

MEP, all your photos are lovely (I can see your a pro). They really bring back the moments of fun, drama, and exhileration!

Hazelnut MEP, all your photos are lovely (I can see your a pro). They really bring back the moments of fun, drama, and exhileration!

Wow! Thanks Hazelnut - that’s a big compliment because that’s what a photo really should do!

wow that was awesome! i bawled when i saw debbie crying. loved how she did the passage on the way out!

She is such an awesome mare, and I hope that her foals have the same class as their mother!

Loved the passage. Just helped show off how small Debbie is compared to her!!!

Someone posted on COTH that Brentina was going to have babies via ET. Are there any due this year? Any word on who she is going to be bred to?

Thanks for the link, WoW!:sadsmile: Not a dry here either. What a wonderful mare and wonderful team they make. You can tell that mare loves what she does/did in the way she exited the arena w/ passage in her heart.

Happy Retirement Mama!!

They said in DT that she is being bred to His Highness. Now that should be a very special baby.

I’ve got pictures of the retirement ceremony (and all World Cup riders!) posted:
