Breyer horses - worth anything?

You can post a sales list on Model Horse Sales Pages, I’ve done business on there. I also recommend checking out Model Horse Blab forum to find out values etc.

Yes, I posted them on both those sites hoping for some hits

I’ll keep that list updated with which are sold and the prices I get for anyone interested in some recent data!

Thanks!

oh wow, this brings back memories!
And the snow storm has also made me bored enough to start cataloguing mine which isn’t nearly as big as yours!

Does anyone have any current Breyer info? Most of these are 10 years ago

There are countless Breyer sale pages on FB that can give you an idea on what prices are. Unfortunately the pricey models are few and far between and better be blemish free. MH$P is really only useful for the fancier stuff.

Now, my personal whinging on the topic. I sold my 100+ model horse collection last summer and made a grand total of about $800 and spent hours wrapping and shipping. If I did it again, I’d peal off my top 20 and leave the rest at Goodwill.

Breyer collectors on an individual level may be wonderful people. As a whole, they are worse than horse people. Holy ****, it was a PITA.

Window shoppers, ridiculous bargaining, and brattiness from gosh darn adults over children’s toys! If I did it over, I’d skim off the top 10 and dump the rest at Goodwill.

So, uh, have fun. I’d rather ride at a barn of DQ’s. At least then you can make the argument there are living, breathing things they’re wound up and protective over. Someone literally yelled at me for saying I was doing a last call before the left overs went to Goodwill, because children would get them and ruin them. Honey, they are toys. That sounds like a fabulous ending. But if you don’t want some 8 year old horse lover cantering Gem Twist on the carpet the way I once did with this very model, go ahead and buy and hoard them yourself.

This made my day. I have 5 big plastic boxes, packed to the brim of Breyer horses. None of them are in the box. I think all of them are dinged up. I spent most of my early teenage years playing with them.

I have my Zenyatta model and Hickstead model down in my office/tack storage room.

I always get a laugh seeing all the collectors on Instagram etc:

that was our kids also, some of those plastic horses are still hiding here somewhere,

There are several Facebook groups dedicated to selling/trading/buying Breyers and other model horses. They tend to be active and I regularly see the rarer models or custom models going for several hundred dollars.

I think when I am ready to part with mine I would try to give them to needy kids such as those in foster care.

Hey are any of these worth anything I just recently inherited them after my mom died and I don’t know what to do with him. I was gonna throw them away but if they’re worth more than $50 apiece sell them but I have no idea where to look or how to find out how much?

Please don’t throw them away! I would be happy to take some of them off your hands - I don’t think you have any that are worth $50 each, but PM me if you want to sell some of them.

This reminds me, I no longer have these (we probably threw them away because they were both broken) but as a young kid, while I somehow missed the whole Breyer Horse Phase it seems a lot of horsey lil’ girls go through, I did have two old toy horses that were basically hand-me-downs from my mom. I’m pretty sure they weren’t Breyers and I think I sleuthed around on google one time out of curiosity and found that if they weren’t broken and were a full set they’d probably have been worth something.

A plastic model of Trigger (rearing) and Buttermilk (standing on all fours). Trigger was missing a front leg when I first got him and I think I somehow broke off one of Buttermilk’s legs. No tack, no toy Roy Rogers or Dale Evans, not sure if they were sold separately and my mom never had them or if they were all together as a set at some point and Roy, Dale and the tack all got lost but by the time I was playing with these in the mid-to-late '90s and early '00s it was just the two horses.

I’m not sure about how to pm lol but if ur interested in purchasing please pm me first I just don’t know how to start the private message on the mobile version or just text me 512-968-5069 my names derek
