The way he balked at turning around and how quickly the guy got off made me wonder if he stands up. It might be an unfair thought progression, but BTDT… I agree I love him physically, too. Hopefully I am wrong and he just needs/gets some guidance and brain surgery.
Believe me, I had the same thought! That’s when the guy said something about the horse being sat on only a few times or something like that. I think the guy felt that hesitation and thought, “Uh-oh, time to hop off of this one.”
That horse is definitely a candidate for emergency castration. Fingers crossed he ends up with someone who can properly start a spunky young horse. He sure is pretty!
He realized he was “stealing a ride”, horse was not really started yet?
Smart to get off and let someone do it right.
Sure a nice horse and moves well, but spunky is right.
Hopefully that’s all it is. I am always impressed the guys gets on so many unknowns, truthfully.
I wonder if he has seen those horses as they come to the regular sale and how they handled and rode, or not?
If so, that may be why he can get on and do whatever each horse needs to show their best.
I don’t see anything that makes me think this colt was anything but very green, just confused and distracted
He is going to make a very pretty gelding for someone. Price isn’t terrible either.
As I said, it may be an unfair assessment tainted by a bad experience that I hope is wrong.
Has this girl shipped? “Slaughter Date 05/16/2025”
Usually, they take down the page if they are not available.
The video link doesn’t work. She has such a nice pedigree.

The most recent “last call” has her number on it, with a new ship date of tomorrow (5/27). The video for her is also posted on Facebook, hopefully this works:

Thank you!
What a shame she barely leads.
And dang! Here he is, a variation on chestnut coloring, and you’re stock full up!
One brain surgery candidate at a time for me
I would love to take them all. Alas, I am not independently wealthy…
Not at Bowie, but this mare with a USEF record a mile long, is in a bad way at another Texas sale barn and could sure use some help. Her name is Cheers, with a chip number 985-113-001-367-576.
Looks like she’s already been picked up! Glad someone got her, wish all the horses with less prestigious histories could be as lucky!
Here’s the update, if anybody can help with a quarantine facility in Texas, please contact the owner. They are not asking for money, just a connection.
@Heinz_57 is that big grassy pasture you were going to use for the boys still available? Maybe this girl could be a short term resident.
Mc Lean TX
Let her know about this place right down the road from McLean, that may have a spot for her or know who does.
They are super nice and competent:
Also contact local vet clinics, some may have a place or know of one?
Unfortunately, McLean is out near Amarillo and I am down by Houston (8 hours away), so too far. I wonder if there is a vet clinic with hospital boardin facilities nearby that could help? That would probably be the most reliable option for quarantine and any vet work needed when you don’t know anyone in the area. She’s not in bad shape, but any normal commercial hauler is going to want her fully vaxxed and a clean bill of health before shipping her to FL.
I know it’s probably pointless, but I hope they can trace ownership to track down who dumped her at a sale.
Check with Equine express out of Pilot Point, TX
They have a lay-off facility that may have a quarantine zone, or know of someone doing quarantine holdups:
They can arrange shipping there and once cleared for Florida haul her there?
The FB post has been updated. A place has been arranged and she’s getting picked up tomorrow.
