I will say that I have always paid cash for used cars. However, my stepdad and boyfriend are both mechanics so while you might be paying 1500 for that timing chain when your used car hits 100,000 miles I’m only paying $30 and a dinner of cabbage rolls.
There’s a big difference between buying a new car and making payments on something that isn’t going to have any mechanical issues, and buying a used car and having to pay several thousand dollars up front when a part wears out. I think COTH is fairly abnormal when it comes to debt, financial security, and comfort levels.
