Oh, no. And you got crap weather closing in as well. Got my fingers crossed those eyes stay bright but…he’ll let you know.
I’m sorry Bear isn’t doing well. That’s a tough surgery no matter how old the horse. I’m sure you’ll do right by him whatever that may be.
This is sad but you have done everything that you can to save the old guy. Horses break our hearts. If he doesn’t feel better and start eating, put him down with the knowledge that you did try everything in your power to save him.
So sorry - I hope he turns the corner !
Jingling for you both
I’m so sorry, LH. Sending lots of jingles and love to you both. I know you will do right by Bear.

Yes, C&C. That same thought came to me in the middle of the night. I have the ability, and the obligation, to take away his pain forever.
I was so upset to see him in such pain last night (and it was a lot worse this morning), but knowing that he will tell me when he is too tired to fight anymore, I can, and will, end his suffering. That (oddly enough) brought me some measure of peace.
We can give our 4 footed friends that final gift. If only we could do the same for our human loved ones.
Jingles for Bear and for you as well.
Jingles from Colorado for both of you.
Jingles for Bear and you LH.

I think it’s as important that we be in peace with our decisions as it is to offer them peace. I think you have turned that corner. Now, we wait and see what his eyes tell us. If he wants to fight.
((((HHHUUUGGGSSS)))) and prayers for Bear and you.
Many prayers and jingles for all of you.

Lordy, I am so glad for you that you are able to see it this way- I agree with F8 that it is important to have peace with this decision before it happens. I’ve been thinking of you and Bear today and will keep you both in my thoughts. Many good vibes from Maryland.
You’re in my thoughts as well.
I just read this whole thread. Thinking of you and hoping Bear has found significant relief from the new pain meds. Fingers crossed!
