But I stopped getting enthused by Jan/Feb/Mar Derby preps a long time ago. Too many false dawns.
Hell, I barely get excited about the Derby winner itself anymore, as most of them won’t last into the summer (injured/retired/or plain never run to form again).
The TC point qualification system really put the nail in the coffin of me caring about the early 3 y/o prep races.

This was his fourth race. Started 3 at 2, won 2 and was second to Honor Code in the Remsen. Here’s hoping he keeps doing as well later in the season/spring.
