California Chrome to Japan?

Bingo. They are largely fringe loons. I like the horse, meaning he’s pretty and it was a fun tale to watch unfold over time. His get aren’t bringing the magic though, so there you go.

The Chromies are having the meltdown of all meltdowns.

Or War Emblem also coming back neglected and depressed that they did not keep trying to find him mares he liked for more years then they did? NOT.

This is a good thing for CC- he will get excellent care and get more breeding attention and a bigger book than he would here.

Another place for whackadoodle Chrome comments - look at the Taylor Made Facebook page. If CC could talk, he would likely tell some of these overwrought folks to STFU and leave him alone. They are carrying on as if TM was the only deciding vote in this and refuse to listen to reason or facts. They have not bothered to even pay attention to details of the deal and the provisions made for CC after his breeding days are over.

Al they do is howl FERDINAND!!! which was an entirely different set of circumstances - and hence Ferdinand clauses that are in effect now. But they do not care and do not read. They know better.

Someone posted photos of Forty Niner at 35 looking good and enjoying his retirement in Japan… and Azeri as well. But none of that matters - they know better.

No, it is all about “betraying” America’s Horse and THEIR horse. Chromie knows in his heart that they will fight for him and is grateful! You can see it in his eyes!! Or so they maintain.

One of my favorite posts in the current storm asserts that when CC was in England, he was secretly being steeplechased and that is why he got hurt. Yep.

I used to think that Barbaro fans (of the bizarre Friends of Barbaro group) were nuts. Some would post pictures of the shrines to Barbaro they had built in their bedrooms (no, I am not kidding). One memorable post explained how this woman felt Barbaro with her at all times and how he had even advised her on what to buy at the supermarket that week. I wish I was making this stuff up. Maybe some of the FoB crowd latched onto CC…

@snaffle1987 - sorry, this does not “look bad” - contrary to what the Chromes are shrieking. It is actually better for CC but who cares - all that apparently matters is the Chromies. They must be appeased and stroked and patted on the head - NOT. They have done far more bad PR for that horse than good. They are even exhorting each other to attack Taylor Made on other web pages… including Lexington newspapers etc. and yet you seem to be buying into and promoting many of their “talking points”…

Perhaps you should consider occasionally taking a step back and considering who “needs to understand”. You seem to think most of us are clueless morons who need to be beaten over the head with your lofty expertise and insight… and contempt for racing.

Who??

Rather than giving us more vague innuendo disguised as fact, how about naming names? Who are these supposed industry professionals who think the sale of CC looks bad?

You’re not the only person here who follows industry professionals on social media. The difference is the people you’re “watching” online are our real life friends.

Don’t personally know any “industry insiders” that are openly critical of the actions of other ownership/ management groups on social media or privately. They mostly mind their own business as they expect others in the industry to mind their own regarding buy/sell/breeding decisions.

I will never forget when he was sent to Australia for breeding, one Chromie said he was an international sex slave :lol:

Actually it was Haras Sumaya in Chile (twice) - but yes, they had a terrible meltdown about how “those people” would treat him, how he would not understand the language, how he was begging them to help him etc. They demonstrated their expertise of Thoroughbreds and everything to do with racing by demanding that his sperms (sic) be sent to Chile instead. They were/are always OUTRAGED about the shipping containers that horses travel in… and that he was loaded on a Fed Ex cargo plane. Precious Chromie is NOT “cargo” and needs a spacious stall deeply bedded with straw in First Class. And so on and so forth…

Wouldn’t you love to see the first class seat that CC would fit in???

Apparently a bunch of “mourners” showed up at a CHRB meeting, dressed like they were going to Don Corleone’s funeral.

There’s a picture on Twitter: https://twitter.com/SKRacingStable/s…om%3Fpage%3D87

I no longer have FB so seeing these short excerpts of what’s going on is giving me life😂

Never could get behind CC myself. Boy, did I try though.

Oh for god’s sake. There really is a mental health crisis in this country.

So, based on what I am reading, the Chromies are now boycotting Taylor Made. They will no longer visit and take farm tours. I am thinking this may have been the real reason they sold him to Japan…

I’m sure Taylor Made will be devastated that a bunch of crazies with no racing stock are boycotting them.

But they really went above and beyond giving people access to him. They also went above and beyond to give him a fair chance as a stallion. That horse had no business even standing in Kentucky, yet they worked their asses off to promote him and give him every advantage.

I hope he becomes the next Deep Impact. I feel lucky to have seen him race and to have fed him cookies. 💕

They really did try to accommodate the Chrome fans. I was impressed that anyone would willingly take that on.

I understand that people are disappointed. It has just really brought the crazy back out in some people.

This just about made me spit water all over my monitor…

As if CHRB either cares or would be able to stop the sale from TM to Japan from going forward…

Hard to believe there are this many people this far departed from the realities of horse ownership, regardless of the fact that CC was a racehorse and part of the racing business. Also departed from the reality of living life in Japan, if the radiation is that bad, how do people live there?

Are the “Corleone Mourners” trying to dramatize the deaths of race horses on the track or are they protesting the export of C.C.? It wasn’t clear to me.

I suppose it could be either. But I saw it on another BB where it was presented as a reaction to CC’s sale.

Could be either or both. I’m fine with them making themselves look ridiculous. I guess they just can’t help themselves.

Honestly, I do understand that having a good protest, regarding whatever it is that matters to you, is a good thing. The U.S. is usually amenable in allowing this fundamental right that is the law of the land, though we have all seen violence break out between protesters and the police when issues regarding human rights are in question.

I am quite in support of peoples right to protest.

However, it is certainly better to protest in an intelligent manner rather than making yourselves a freak show.
Obviously , if you want your cause to be taken seriously the protest must be about the cause, not be absurd, and not be all about you in a costume going over the top with dramatics.

It seems as if these folks are neither proposing new laws nor the enforcement of current ones, but only playing drama queen dress-up, which does no good at all for their cause.
