My GSD occasionally has that issue. Lovely surprise. I find her issue is only when she has either gotten into some people food she shouldn’t have or (like an idiot) I have given her scraps (steak) after dinner with too much seasoning.
That said I started her on Solid Gold Wolf King (bison) when she was a baby and have had great success with it. I also tried Natural Balance LID Sweet Potato & Bison Grain Free and she liked that a lot as well.
I think trying a different food is definitely the way to start.

I’ve done the same thing…Marinated London Broil…my poor pup was hurting for days…got so bad there was blood involved for a day…no more ever, no matter how much he begs!
From what you’ve said, the only time she has been messing in her kennel is usually when she eats something she is not supposed to eat. How are her stools when she stays on her regular kibble without any additional outside food/unknown food? That would be the first thing to check.
Some dogs only do well on their ONE food and not any other food, no treats, no people food, nothing. We have a dog that did well on one type of kibble until she turned two, and then we switched to Earthborn Holistic Prairie Feast…no other protein kibble from E.H. as it has potatoes or some other form of starch in them that she cannot have.
I am not a fan of Science Diet foods. For example, I think the lamb kibble you are discussing is the one with wheat, barley, corn gluten meal, sorghum, etc. within the first five ingredients? Those are all triggers for intolerances such as rashes, stinky ears, vomiting, and diarrhea for dogs with sensitive stomachs.
Has she been parasite-tested? How long has this been going on? How long is it after she eats her kibble that she has diarrhea? Any weight loss? Changes in her coat?
While I would recommend a solid prebiotic and probiotic, I would also swing her by the Vet to test for pancreatitis, and although our dogs are parasite tested bi-annually, we always run them through SafeGuard once a year between Spring and Summer because that is when they both have loose poops though test negative for the common parasites.

So calling all GSD owners! Do your dogs have issues with their stomachs? I have a 4 1/5 year old female GSD. It seems that the older she is getting the more stomach issues she has, specially over the last couple of months.
It seems that at least once a month she has a BAD case of #3 to the point when she is Kenneled during the day she accidentally messes it up (note: she HATES to mess up her area, so for her to do so meant she had to go BAD). We have usually been able to pin point what the issue was with food she wasn’t suppose to eat. It seems that she can eat dog food and that’s it…but now I am wondering as she matures if the dog food she is on is also causing the problems. We’re about a call away from the vet, but just haven’t done it yet since each time she’s eaten something she shouldn’t have so far…
Has anyone had any experience with this?
She currently eats Science Diet Adult Lamb food, along with my border collie, and had been doing well with it. She only gets about 2 cups 2x a day.
Any suggestions for food for dogs with sensitive stomachs? Probiotics?[/QUOTE]
Stop science diet! I do like the raw diet. I think Natures Logic is a good one. Orijen is a good option as well for a dry food.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions! She has been tested with nothing triggering the cause. I did recently switch her to Blue Freedom Fish and Sweet Potato and I have never seen a dog go for food so fast in my life. We are still switching over from the Science Diet at about 25/75 now but she leaves the SD for last and goes for the Blue first! Have had no problems and her movements have been normal!
I also added the GNC Probiotic that Petsmart carries. Not sure if its one or the other but right now no issues, very happy dog, and very happy “parents”. We’ll see what happens after a month and a full switch over…but so far so good!
That’s cuz it’s so stinky lol. I’m glad she likes it, it’s really been the best for my GSD out of many of the higher end foods I’ve tried. I hope it does as well for your girl.
