Can anyone share Canine Disc experiences

I dont have anything else to add, I just wanted to send out some jingles for your guy. I hope that rest will be the cure. Keep us updated.

Thanks PP…much appreciated.

I think your money best spent would be with a referral to a specialist (boarded surgeon, preferably with a radiologist / neurologist at the same hospital). Dont waste any more time with regular vets if your dog doesnt get better. Uness they are completely herniated, discs are not evident on plain radiographs - myelography is required. Iliapsoas muscle tears can mimik back pain as well, a surgeon can isolate and a radiologist can image the area. Even getting a consult will put your mind at ease if the rimadyl and rest doesnt work

Have him xrayed for hip dysplasia. My one Aussie had the same symptoms as your dog. not lame but would cry out if he jumped on couch , on bed or in the car.He seemed fine other wise. Had him xrayed and he had very bad hips. he was 5 at the time.

Hips were xrayed. Hips and back looked pretty non eventful on film.

He’s better today. Puttting weight down on left hind, although a bit stiff legged.

He’s not happy about stall rest…HE thinks he feels just fine. But we’ll see what we have in the next week. The fact that he is at least acting like his old self is at least encouraging. He’s weight baring, not yelping in pain…had a good roll last night on his bed and not bothered in the least. I really do think we have a muscle injury to the back leg.

Yay!!! I hope things continue to progress in a non eventual manner and you have your boy back to 100% in no time.
