Can Someone Explain Towerheads to Me?

Hey MargaretF - email me if you would like the Cliff Notes explanation…

Never mind, Big Hoof summed it up pretty well…

I was going to ask just about the same thing Goodmudder. Looks like its time to revive People for the Ethical Treatment of Frommage.

Baby carrots anyone? I actually have several bags in the vegetable drawer in my fridge. Very tasty, and good to keep from snacking on other crunchies like potato chips and cheetos. But now I feel guilty as I’m snarfing them down.

No So Easy, don’t blame Cactuskate. It’s all my fault. I’m the one who spelled Fromage with two "m"s, and she just followed my lead.

Here I am trying to defend the poor little baby quiche, and I can’t even spell their species right. I shall have to donate an extra dozen eggs to the PETF fund.

Does it help any that I can spell “Trakehner”?

DMK we know all about you and your abuses of the baby quiche. Don’t you realize your picture is on the poster currently being distributed by the Baby Quiche Protection Society??

The shame is yours to bear alone on this issue. I hope you can sleep at night.

Towerheads has become the cool place to be for the in crowd…I also noticed that many of you do post about things/issues that dont concern you. Maybe you should just not worry about ken and what people say he has done if you will never be at a show big enough for him to be anouncing at.

I guess unlike the “in” people at TH, I am more concerned with the enjoyment and evolution of riding as a sport, and less concerned with point chasing, the label on my rear end, and how many warmbloods I imported last year. Cry me a river. And if you judge people on what shows they go to instead of how they treat other people and their horses, well gol dang! You’re the epitome of the Equestrienne.

Dang Mesach, where do you work? One of those fancy, touchy-feely dot.com places that actually cares if their employees are happy?

As she unabashedly grasps hook and runs with line…

Towerheads.com is another website that relates to the comings and goings of horse show people. The “Tower” is from the announcers booth where Ken Kraus spends the majority of his time. As far as why you should care about his opinions? I’m not sure why anyone would think you should care anymore than you would about any media’s opinion. Or for that matter more than I/we care about the opinions of fellow BB posters.

The “guy” dispensing advice about “zits” is a Dr that also spends time on the circuit and contributes little articles, usually with humor, about medical conditions.

Would this be considered enlightening?

The Christmas trees, I’m sure, go to become wilted jump decorations at local shows. The pumpkins become ground lines, I believe. But jackolanterns not allowed, too scary for the greenies.

Psssst…gladstone, read on down the posts. We had a really good thing going here. It had actually taken the most graceful broken-line turn in a five to something of great levity!!!

However I do resemble your remark. I must confess. I may give my spin on somethings I know little about. Like People for the Ethical Treatment of Frommage. I must say until a short while back I couldn’t even spell frommage. Now I can proudly say, I have sampled some wonderful Brie. Too bad there is none to be found in the desert.

Hey! I thought I heard my name mentioned! LOLOL Now that we’re on the subject of Christmas trees, what about the poor TORTURED GARLAND - ripped from the comfort of it’s home and strung together with complete strangers, only to be tied to some other strangers bannister or such! What HORROR!!!

People can choose to defend whomever they want, that is none of my business. But I think that slightly pretentious statements such as this are not going to help you support a position at all, and will only succeed in making people defensive. everyone on this bulletin board is here because we share the common bond of having horses in our lives. just because some of us do not have the economic means to show at the said “big show” does not mean that we are inferior and not entitled to hold an opinion on a subject. I also think that many people are not making personal attacks but instead truly just expressing how the particular issue in general (and everyone know what issue I am referring to).
I also resent the insinuation that I am not ‘cool enough’ to get involved in ‘A’ circuit or industry issues in general. WE ALL PAY OUR AHSA DUES! the type of attitude that seems to be demonstrated by these statements is one that perpetuates the elitist image that equestrian sports have in the eyes of the general public.
sorry for ranting guys- I know I’m new and I will probably get flamed, but grr…

Pacificsolo, I have a roll of duct tape here with your name on it if you even THINK about piping in on this one!

Ahem… we have defintely beaten this horse way past dead, people. And I’ve said time and time again that there’s no need to debate the merits of other BBs here. People can play on whichever playground they prefer… just don’t knock those who choose differently.

So can we PLEASE not do this again? There’s no reason to have the same conversation for the umpteenth time. Somebody please call in the Baby Carrot Brigade reinforcements!

Now, I am very curious why no one has mentioned the plight of holiday M&Ms. Think how disconcerting it must be to have your identity changed from one holiday to the next. Or, if you are perhaps a Christmas M&M, to be put in the sale bin on Dec. 26 simply on the basis of your color! It’s pure discrimination! I am outraged!

Talk about indignation…at work we have a Christmas moose that we fill with red and green M&M’s, when you pull his head up he poops M&M’s.

Ewwwww…How disgusting!

Ken Kraus is an announcer. He gets a lot of good interviews with industry people because he’s been around awhile. Please check the back posts for more info.

To everybody:
We don’t need a 23rd rehashing of this, y’all. Really. We’ll scare our new moderator . Calm happy Xmas thoughts.

wheee! 200 posts in only a year and a half. Gold star for me!

Ijust got back from a quick meeting, and I was so afraid I might have to bring up the troubling issue of PETF, I’m so glad to see others have the same overriding concern for so troubling a subject…

And Christmas trees… gasp… why I never even thought about such an obvious case of abuse!!! Chopped, shipped, humiliated with artificial trinkets then chipped or burned… oh the horrors!

Personally, I think it is absolutely appalling that a bunch of anonymous posters would be discussing veggies and their problems on a public board. Have you no shame, people?

sorry to wonder back onto subject.
BUT~
dont know ken kraus, but his website is nice i guess. He has some good articles, and some good interviews, but on the whole, everytime i go, i end up wasting time searching for things i never find. Personally, the boards are a little, eh, dont really know how to put it into words, but the Pony Board is well, never mind, i dont want to be yelled at! Anyways, when i go to towerheads, i never find what im lookng for, just a jumble of articles, sorry if i’ve offended anyone in this useless babble! im off to bed to watch TV! whoopee!

YAAAAAAWNNNN… Stretch, stretch, stretch… yaaaaawwwwnnnn… After waking up from an extremely restful night’s sleep, I have decided to resume the daily and ongoing abuse of baby quiches. Why just the other day I committed an unspeakable act at La Madeleine’s…

I’m with Erin though. This casual disregard of M&M’s based solely on their color is clearly a violation of the Constitution, and I shall commence actions through the ACLU!

Oh, and Kelsey and Sandstone… I promise that if you won’t make any more possibly inaccurate and surely grossly overstated generalizations, I won’t either… I’m pretty sure I can get a few more BB’ers to join in this pledge… but it has to be a mutual sort of thing, you understand?

That’s all I have to say on this topic. Back to the Slaying of the Baby Quiches!

The candy cane situation is far worse though I’m afraid. Candy Canes should be red and white and taste like peppermint! None of this poor tasting suposedly haute couture colours with flavours like lime and rootbeer.

I shall start a new fund: The Candy Cane True Colours Preservation Society. Regalmeans can head up the fund raising department.

THANK YOU JAIR. What self respcting candy cane wants to be lime? or strawberry? or rainbow? they are exploited and it’s not fair!

I have to tell you coming from a horse show insider that towerheads sight is far more up to date and on the mark of what the is going on in the horse show world than these boards. Ken Krause has provided many top quality interviews and does have his thumb on hot topics. Most of what I read here is rumor and bashing from many people who know very little about what really go’s on in the horse world. This is only my feeling and I am sure most of you don’t care so go on bashing and keep on giving your spin on topics you know so little about.
