Sorry, but I’m so seldom right. By the way, when I first bought my horse, the first thing we did was put him in bigger shoes, and it made such a difference.

Continuing the discussion from Can the canter become worse as the horse ages?:
Me again! We just had the farrier out again last week, and we have gone up yet another shoe size. I’m having someone come out to check my saddle as well, and I’m thinking about getting him some chiro. He is doing much better, still a ways to go but there’s already been such improvement. Just thought I would give a little update
Did you end up doing X rays? Two shoe sizes in two cycles is pretty significant.
No xrays, but he’s improved a ton and the farrier says his feet are looking much better. He’s never been lame (again knock on wood), just was moving differently from how he was before. We are strengthening his back and stifles and getting him to start moving while using his body correctly again. We are going to have a full work up on him done before show season!
