Can't find heavy duty cotton leads

SmartPak has a couple options

If someone could find me one with a solid brass chain, I’d be thrilled. They’ve got a woven one that is, but I prefer the other style with my blocker ring.

Rope source;

I used to get mine at Dover - they were long, thick, and had a brass chain. I just gave away one I never used - I had bought several of them because they were on sale and squirreled one away but don’t need it anymore since I am horseless.

Are the ones at Schneider’s not thick enough? These don’t have a chain, but you could buy a chain separately and ask your local welder or maybe even your farrier if they can attach it.

I just got my package today. It was a Ravenox brand 1 inch x 8 ft. To be honest it is very nice. $47 plus taxes-nice? Idk. Thought about returning it, but it a great lead line.

If you like it, keep it. It will last you much longer than the cheaper thin ones.

These look scrawny in the picture but they are nice and hefty with solid hardware. 10’ long. I think I have like a dozen of them lol

I haven’t read the thread sp apologies if it’s been covered, but try cattle leads. I have two of the longest, toughest cotton leads that I bought with cattle halters.

Their downside is they don’t fit through the tie rings on my boeckmann trailer.

Here is an actual link to the webside and the leads that zu_zu is talking about.

Too bad they are only 3/4" diameter, which is not what the OP was asking about.

@trubandloki I know the leads are 3/4th - I stated that in my post but thought perhaps it was a worthy post as these leads are Quite Wonderful ! R.E. Fennell’s cotton leads are Blue Ribbon in quality and last forever ! with excellent hardware !

Perhaps others reading this thread may find the Fennell’s leads exactly what they are shopping for !!!
