Carpet pieces as arena footing???
The arenas were nice and springy for dressage and show jumping. You could see all different styles of carpeting torn into small pieces. It was kind of funny to see shag carpeting in the footing.
Shag, that’s funny. All I can think of is Austin Powers. “Yeah, baby, yeah!”

Was the arena lit with lava lamps?

This is shredded carpet

Can’t stand it. Always caught under shoes, and constantly picking it out of Velcro. Many other alternatives just as good

I’ve had 4 complaints with any footing with carpet -
(1) it gets compacted easily, resulting in a hard surface
(2) because of this, you have to drag the arena several times a day (or based on use)
(3) after it’s dragged, it’s so fluffy that it requires a lot of effort to move through, it literally takes your impulsion
(4) in certain environments it can cause static electricity and shock you and horse!

Does anyone know what arena drag to use on the carpet footing? My barn just installed it and has no idea what drag to use or how to maintain it.

THIS^^^^ Hate it!!!
