Cats of the Farm: The Pride Goes On

We did that at family meals too, for Mama’s brother.
I thought maybe the inset had been put on that side for a lefty.
It’s a great desk, and your story about it made me think of the desk my father designed for me and had made by a man in my parents’ Sunday School class. My father was one of the teachers.
Cool desks.

In his last study that I remember him using it in, it was up against a wall on that left side.

Cotton under my friend’s rose. Sarge is on the porch, and Mary is in the window.

One real cat with three stuffed cats in the library.

I lost a big tree in the woods in Sunday night’s storms.

Looks like a new ‘cat perch.’

Yep, that is definitely a king sized cat tree. I hate to think what shipping would cost if they were sold like that, though.

This a new member of our family called Alice. She is absolutely adorable and really likes our company. My daughter delegated to write paper for her to these guys https://paperfellows.com/write-my-paper in order to be able to spend more time with her and help her with the adaptation process. Hope the little creature will feel herself welcomed in her new home.

Is this the new “Rascal” model, #RCT2023?

Maybe it’s one of those printouts where all you need is a 3D printer. You order the software online and then just print out the hardware?

Who is this handsome young tiger?

One of my favorite shots came up today on memories. This is Bagheera during the solar eclipse in 2017.

And Bagheera this morning. I love this tree; it has character.

Rascal patriotically supervising the changing of the flag on my project hour this afternoon. I love my flag pole, but flags only last a couple of months. Too much wind whipping at them.

Temptation!

This is Psalm (recognizable by the split light and dark face). I am pinning her securely with my right arm.

Something keeps happening to my bookcase topper cats in my library. Gee, I wonder what that could be. I had picked them up and replaced not five minutes before. This is first-degree premeditated mischief.

Cotton in front of the western sugar maple.

A Sunday afternoon nap. Clockwise from lower left: Rascal, Satin, Bagheera, Sarge. Such enthusiasm.

Rascal on the Cat Tree.

Rascal and Bagheera with my porch rose, which is well over 1000 blooms for the season.

Cotton. He could only be cooler if he had shades.

Pharaoh and my black cat pillow on my bed.

This picture from the pride has always amused me. It came up on memories today. The three orphaned kittens were temporarily put in my bedroom while I was cleaning the kitten room. Pilgrim was in there, too. This was how they wound up.

And my woods cat this morning.

Mystery has to be one of the most amiable, tolerant cats I’ve ever known. He is in whatever mood the other cat wants him to be in at any moment. Want to play? Fine. Want to sleep? Fine. Want to climb on top of me and sleep there? Fine.

Rascal. She is neither amiable nor tolerant. The sign, by the way, which we’re looking at the back side of, says God Bless America. I found it recently and planted it. The first night it was there, it acquired two small experimental nibbles along the top. Hard plastic cannot taste good, and whatever was sampling it that first night has left it alone since.

Cotton. The hardest part of framing this shot up was not getting too close, because I knew as soon as I got close enough to the front steps, he would walk the rail over to be right beside them and greet me. I saw the shot but was trying to be very still and actually backing up a bit to not prompt him to move before I could get it.
