My older kitty canters like my Arab, but only when she is having a session of real playtime.
I thought that fold only came when you spayed them, but come to think of it I’ve never seen a cat without one.
Whoever said jump flap has it accurately described for my little 1 1/2 yr old very active cat. She’s 90% white and well she jumps like she’s of that color. Or did. She now has a flap and I swear it is either coincidence or it’s given her jumping ability. She’s now rather proud of herself and shows off her jump daily. lol My two other cats have the flap. The more active of the two has the bigger flap. None are overweight.
Cantering kitties!
My cats tend trot when they need to get somewhere pretty fast; I think they do it because they can be very quiet and crouch down low- when they ‘gallop’ they’re not as discreet and would never catch prey that way!
It’s funny to watch them sometimes. My one little girl will canter around and she’ll swap her leads like she’s doing tempi-changes  She’s all of 4 lbs. The big boy will scurry when ever he hears someone at the door and his big ‘dewlap’ swings back and forth/ side to side!

What if I put weighted booties and chains on my cats front feet? My chubby cat mostly likes to walk so if I get more action in front as she goes I think I could get a running walk out of her. Then you would never notice the flappy skin.[/QUOTE]
lewin, it’s a good thing I didn’t have anything in my mouth when reading this as I fear I would have needed a new computer after laughing so hard.
My lovely kitty has quite the large udder. He does do quite a bit of jumping so that could explain it. Good thing he’s not a showjumper though as I fear he’s be pulling quite a few rails with his udder.
