When my mare had severe cellulitis, the vet applied a full limb compression bandage and had her in a run with a stall. As soon as she wasn’t three legged lame, she was being hand walked multiple times a day. Once the bandage came off, vet instructed me to turn her out with a quiet pasture buddy.
Yay! Glad to hear the progress, @Dr. Doolittle!
Tonight is the first night in 10 days my mare is going to bed with NO legs wrapped. Super exciting! Hope it lasts. I also have one who popped a massive case of hives with this crazy weather, so watch out for that, too :sigh:
(And more rain, really?! I have shit to do  )
WOO HOO! for your mare! (and you), but so sorry you’re having to go through all of this, ugh. I always say: “All’s well that ends well when it comes to horses”, so fingers crossed that this is the final stretch!
Gah, hives. At least that’s (usually) not nearly as serious as the giant PITA that is cellulitis.
I think the forecast is for pop up T-storms tomorrow and Wed., and again over the weekend. :sigh: Maybe there will be enough dry weather in between to enable some recovery and healing? Of course the humidity is of tropical proportions :-/
