You say that like it’s a bad thing! That’s WAY more than I can do! I can just about manage 1 minute on a good day!
Good luck with the interview. You’re due for something good!

Right?? A 5 minute plank is pretty unbelievable in my book. 4 minute as well. Good for you.
Well it wasn’t easy, took every ounce of strength and determination I had in me.
Our trainer called the challenge and she called the time. I was the only one besides her that managed.
I passed with flying colors, the dog can be mine. There is only on hitch, she is in Mexico. I would have to go to the Toronto International airport to pick her up. The highways and traffic in that area is always a nightmare no matter what day or time. There is no way I would be able to navigate that drive nor would I be able to guarantee that any of my friends would be able and willing to get me there at the appropriate time.
The nice gentleman I was speaking with will check to see if the Rescue has a volunteer that could pick the dog up at the airport and meet me part way.
Now we wait and see.
I hope you can find someone to help!!
Is the rescue located in Mexico or does the rescue bring dogs in from Mexico? Have they actually seen/had hands on this dog? Has she been spayed and if she doesn’t work out for you will they take her back? Who is paying to have the dog flown from Mexico to Canada?
Sorry for all the question but something about this seems a bit off to me. I hope I am wrong and it works out for you and the dog!
I’m hoping I’m wrong, but my spidey senses are tingling too…
I know three different friends who have adopted dogs through rescues that transported the dogs to the US from Mexico. All worked out well, and the dogs were as described. So in my indirect experience, not unusual or a red flag. And the adoption fees in these cases included the transportation costs.
This site has great info:

As I pointed out upthread, I adopted from a rescue in Spain. That rescue works with US rescues, so if there were a problem (as there was with my attempt at a 2nd rescue), the dog goes back to the US associate. These are wonderful rescues, on both continents. I wouldn’t automatically assume it’s different with this situation.
Sorry, but “I’d turn back Dorothy !”
Too many red flags : sounds just too damn difficult ~ IMHO ~ sorry
? WHY in the world is her location/Mexico just now being divulged?!

I’m out ! CP = Completely Pessimistic !
Yes, I was wondering the same thing. It should have been in the ad.
Maybe they don’t want to incur the shipping costs and health paperwork when there isn’t a home already secured? My own dog was flown across the country (nearly as far actually) on the Dog is Copilot program and my parents have adopted two dogs from a rescue that drove dogs up from TX to the NW as they were adopted but not before. I mean yeah, would be good to know her current location but it doesn’t mean it’s a scam. Airplanes make the world small. Would be CAREFUL here but not out already.
Do you have to send them money to somewhere in Mexico?
I agree the location, being so far away, should have been in the ad?
I’m FB friends with a Canadian lady very involved in rescuing strays from Mexico, she even moved there. It’s not necessarily anything shady at all.
Happy dance!
Agreed, but not having disclosed it seems shady. Many people are not interested in rescuing from another country for a lot of reasons. And it’s hard to import dogs to some places now due to risk of disease - e.g. the US. Not sure if this has changed for Canada or not. But there was a reason for it - and it’s possible that these rescue groups are desperate for placements but they should not hide facts.
Personally, I would prefer not to rescue from another country, simply because we have more than enough available dogs in the US that I don’t think we need to import them.
The Rescue does state that dogs may come from several US states, Mexico and Japan. Apparently she is being fostered right now with a woman in Mexico, has been spayed and health checked. I didn’t realize that they are not imported until they have an adopter.
The Rescue seems legit and the person I spoke with lives not too far from me. At this point I don’t know when money comes into play. It does state the cost is $695
I have to wait until I hear from the rescue.
In the contract it states that if after 30 days the dog does not work out I will have to foster the dog until another adopter can be found. I will be reimbursed my fee minus $100 administration fees. If I am unable to foster I will be responsible for a $500 rehoming fee which will be deducted from my adoption payment.
This wouldn’t work for me, knowing (as much as we do) your personal situation. If the dog doesn’t work, that likely means it has some reasonably substantial behavior issues, and you have to “foster” the dog until someone else is willing to deal with said behavioral issues?
No thanks!
