At this price ($50) I can easily afford a brown one for schooling or when I get up the nerve to switch to brown in dressage.
I tried on a lot of helmets yesterday for helmet awareness day. I ended up with a Samshield because it fit best, but CO also fit me very well. I have an oval head. I tried on IRH and they gapped in the sides. Too round. The Troxel Avalon didn’t come low enough on the back of my head, but it fit the rest of my head fine. The OneK, which I have had one of, pinched the sides of my forehead. The girl at Dover said they changed the fit last year. The Ovations are much too shallow for my head, they stop about 2 inches above my ear. GPAs are much too round (and expensive!) for me. While I would have loved to go cheap, they just didn’t fit my head right. Here’s hoping that I won’t have to replace this one for a long time!
I have the Tipperary T2 and love it. It has a removeable/washable liner that I really needed.
This post helped convince me to get a OneK. And after days of searching on Ebay I found a OneK Defender Suede Air, in my size, for auction starting at $45 and I thought for sure it would go up quick, but to my surprise, after bidding against 6 other people, I won the auction for $54 and free shipping. I have an IRH Switch, with dial-fit, that has seen better days [no falls, but a barn dog chewed on the visor and chewed a penny size hole in it, ugh] and my 1st hunter show [local show] of the season is in October.
