Cheapish sheepskin saddle pads

Tack of the Day has one in their “too” collection http://www.tackoftheday.com/product_p/wb-11-15-17-half-pad.htm

I have a new, never used full pad with sheepskin on the bottom! I can PM you details if you haven’t found one yet.

Such a timely post! I have been looking for something like a Woolback pad that only has the wool fleece on the under side and just quilted material or something like it on top in a XC saddle shape. Not a half pad. I am not interested in sheep skin but just wool fleece.

Does anyone know of such a pad?

I am intrigued with the Soul comfort pet mats and doing a bit of sewing or having someone do a bit of sewing. But I rather find a pad already made up.

For what it’s worth, I just ordered two wool-lined Engel pads, and I’m sending them back. One of them has a bulge (feels like a thick seam) under the saddle area when you flex it as you would over a horse’s back, which I can only imagine would be terribly uncomfortable for the horse. The wool is also really thin.

The LeMieux pads are wool without the skin, as are the Griffen Nuumed pads.

My horse is more comfortable with fleece against her back.
For everyday riding I use one of these (not real wool, but she does just fine with it)
I have a early Mattes 1/2 back pad that I got years ago when they weren’t outrageously expensive. It’s still in very good shape but a tad too small for my jumping saddle, so I bought a larger genuine wool fleece lined pad that I got on eBay, new, for very cheap ($40 or the like) and it’s my go-to half back pad. Can’t remember the brand, tho.
Then there’s the “euro” cut Griffin-Nuumed half wool pad that she wears when we “go out”
I wash all of them fairly rarely with Woolite. The rest of the time, I brush the sweat out.
