Clinic attire spin off

So…I have a dumb question. I think I’ve lost an inch to an inch and a half in height. Are there any exercises to help w that??? I’m fairly slim. Thx!

Yeh that’s why I like the Deluth Trading garden vest. It’s meant for summer use. Very thin and the material is slightly stretchy. I wear this vest riding everywhere. LolI do try to coordinate my colours when I go off the barn property for lessons etc.

Oooo I like all the pockets it has!

Lol my horse likes it because I can cram a lot of cookies in the front ones. The back ones are handy for shoving my gloves in if I need to have them off. The front sort of hidden zippered pocket holds my S20 Galaxy phone (with the Otterbox defender case) or if I’m using my Pivo, I can put the remote in there and don’t worry about losing it.

We are definitely fans of treat pockets!

Peter Millar, which is golf attire, makes lovely lightweight vests that are just perfect for riding. They’re my go to. Actually I like all their clothing, vests, sun shirts, etc. for riding. Find a local pro shop. Even some private clubs allow for the public to shop, just call ahead first.

I have a Duluth vest I use for dog training. They work great for that too!

So the size chart isn’t accurate, or just no vanity sizes? I don’t mind being a large…

All I can tell you is that I’m normally a medium, and the vest I bought from them is marked a medium, but is too darned small…

I didn’t look at the size chart, though. It was a couple of years ago when I was arrogantly confident in my medium-ness.

Ohhhh I use measurements always and have only been disappointed once. How was the quality etc otherwise?

Very nice. (I was really disappointed it was so snug–and now it’s beyond snug of course…)

I like the Lands End polo petite for my 50 year old likes queso and wine, Covid body. Slightly fitted but I size up, short enough it skims my belt but doesn’t look untidy and hides most protruding lumps. Sometimes I wear a long shirt under it and look like Sheldon. I also do clinics in my safety vest which hides a lot  .

It’d probably be easier to give up the queso with the amount of time I spend choosing my attire……

FITS pull-ons are high rise breeches, so they come up to your (at least to my) natural waist. My jelly roll doesn’t get compressed, therefore it doesn’t spill over the top of the waistband. The all-season ones with deerskin patches are stretchy but with a good amount of body in the Powermax fabric, so they’re nice and smoothing, too. I can’t speak about the silicone ones as I’ve never tried them.

OK now this is a great idea, only I haven’t worn one since I started my 13 yo… needless to say it won’t fit now plus don’t they expire like helmets?? But maybe I should get one.

If you ride all summer in a safety vest, this problem will go away (because you will sweat your butt and muffin top off). My figure was never so amazing as when I fractured my sternum and broke a rib and needed to ride in my CO JL9 safety vest for 6 months. Best conditioning program ever!!

I wish that were the case, but sweating is just water weight - I have true pure chub  I do lose weight in the summer regardless because I’m riding two horses a day and gardening and doing chores instead of sitting inside monching yummies on the couch because going outside in 38* sideways rain is not gonna happen. I got the supervisor 15 four years ago and now working on the dicks 25 apparently   :sob:

For me it wasn’t just about sweating. The vest is quite heavy and in addition to sweating I’m pretty sure it raised my core body temp. What happened to me wasn’t water loss. I was ripped by the end of that stint. But I’m also in Atlanta and it was 90 degrees that summer.

Ohh yeah I am catty-corner across the continent from you, the FD posts heat stroke warnings on social media starting at 75*.

But a vest isn’t a bad idea. What are hunters wearing in the ring these days? I know it’s becoming more normal. I ride alone and already bought a Garmin watch with fall detection, I’m all about safety.

I see the CO and Ovation. I also see the air vests but I do not wear one for multiple reasons.

I loved seeing other people in them last winter in Ocala at WEC and I saw more people in them this year at WEC Ohio.

I don’t wear the style that I may as well have a belly shirt on  (eh hem CO).

In some of my pictures- I was like - hey I don’t look svelte- then I realized it doesn’t matter if I wear the vest or not for that

Also following for some ideas. Unfortunately, I have a Tipperary vest that is really short in the front so my gut sticks out below it. :frowning:
